How the Galactic Senate works

Open the Senate chamber in your Galactic Embassy. Each UTC week, commanders choose one edict for the following week. Every edict expires after seven days.

Voting opens Monday, 00:00 UTC
Voting requires Galactic Embassy level 1 in your current settlement
Ballots One per commander; cannot be changed
Vote weight 1 plus council reputation earned this UTC week, captured when you vote

Civilization blocs

Human ballots choose each civilization's edict by weighted plurality. Up to three enabled AI commanders per civilization vote according to its lore. Their votes are used only where no human voted. Each human-backed bloc has N + 1 points, where N is the number of civilizations; each AI-only bloc has 1. All AI-only blocs together cannot overturn a human bloc lead. AI delegates do not need a player-built Embassy.

Timing and ties

The winning edict applies from the next Monday at 00:00 UTC until the following Monday at 00:00 UTC. The displayed edict order breaks all ties, including no turnout. The current winner is excluded from the next ballot, so it cannot win back-to-back. The chamber keeps the latest 12 results; operators retain the full history.

Economic limits

The catalog allows only bounded comet stock and listing fee effects. Edicts cannot transfer wealth between commanders, change existing orders, grant resources directly, or change Starpass or real-money systems. A delayed scheduler never extends an edict. Pausing the Senate disables voting and all effects.
